What Is Physiotherapy?
A physiotherapist/physical therapist/rehabilitation assistant is a healthcare professional with a University Masters Degree who is qualified to assess and evaluate your condition to accordingly carry out treatments. These consist of manual therapy techniques, electrotherapy, physical modalities, specific exercise programs and many other specialized approaches.
Do I need physiotherapy?
Have you suffered injuries in a motor vehicle accident, at work or while playing sports?
Are your physical movements restricted by pain?
Are you suffering from pain or discomfort anywhere in your body?
Are you having difficulty walking or moving around?
Are you suffering from migraines or severe headaches?
Suffering from pain or discomfort of any kind is your body’s way of asking for help. You should not ignore it because bodily discomfort rarely gets better on its own and often gets worse with time.
How Can Physiotherapy Help Me?
Physiotherapy techniques can help correct the problems that are causing you pain and limiting your daily activities. The sooner you start physiotherapy, the greater are your chances of successful recovery and treatment. Delaying physiotherapy treatment can often aggravate the risks of developing a chronic condition.
How Effective Is Physiotherapy?
Many patients find immediate relief while others find that the correction of their problem takes longer when it has existed for several years. It is important to note that every patient responds differently to physiotherapy treatments.
Why Choose Ottawa Physiotherapy?
Choose physiotherapy over drugs and surgery as a common sense approach to better health and mobility. It is the key to living an independent, quality and joyful life. Regardless of how quickly you respond to these treatments you will enjoy the drug-free results that millions of patients have benefited from for many decades.
When Should I Consult a Physiotherapist for Advice and Treatment?
A registered physiotherapist should be consulted when suffering from any of the following conditions:
-
Pain, swelling and/or discomfort.
-
Stiffness weakness and/or decreased mobility.
-
Acute or chronic neck upper back and/or lower back pain.
-
Fractures, sprains, strains and/or severe contusions.
-
Tendonitis, bursitis and/or capsulitis.
-
Bulging/protruded/herniated discs and/or sciaticas.
-
TMJ dysfunctions and/or jaw pain.
-
Arthritis and/or rheumatism.
-
Migraines or severe headaches.
-
Postural and/or respiratory problems.
-
Neurological problems causing paralysis, tingling, numbness and/or neuralgia.
-
Blocked breast milk ducts.
-
Benign positional vertigo (labyrinthitis).

How Are These Services Covered?
